Anglo European School of English Limited which operated from premises in Lansdowne Road, Bournemouth has closed with the loss of 19 jobs.

The School had operated for 14 years offering international students in-house English courses and offering Junior overseas students English language Summer courses at Oxford Brookes University, The University of Hertfordshire and Cheltenham Ladies College. At the recent meeting of creditors at which David Meany of Ashtons was appointed as Liquidator, the Director attributed the failure of the School and the resulting deficiency of almost £300,000  to changes in Government Policy on Student Visas resulting in less uptake from Non-EU students, increased competition in the sector and forecasting errors leading to unprofitable classroom ratios.
